Making a Purchase
Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may send your credit card information via phone, fax, snail mail or over the Internet.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

Shipping And Handling
Shoes are dispatched on the day of order if ordered before 3pm and if in stock. Otherwise goods will be despatched within 3 to 10 working days. You will be notified if your shoes are not going to arrive next day. Recorded delivery is used for all orders and on some occasions we upgrade to special delivery FREE of charge.
A Return Post Option is available for purchase when you place your order which will provide a prepaid returns label. Should you find the goods unsuitable (wrong size or colour for example), a refund or replacement will be offered if returned within 14 days.
If we ship the wrong size or colour or there is a problem with the style we will refund or exchange in full. Customers should contact us on 01234 355101 or email returns@howorthsonline.co.uk to request a returns label. We will not refund return postage cost unless previously agreed (see Returns Policy for full details).

If you have not purchased a Return Post Option and you have ordered the wrong size or colour will endeavour to advise you and hopefully provide you with a suitable replacement but the return postage and outward shipping cost on the replacement pair would have to be paid by yourself. We will not deduct any fee for administration if you are taking a replacement.

However if you require a refund, you will be obliged to pay the cost of the return shipping and we will deduct from the refund a standard administration fee of £3.50 per pair for UK orders, £6.99 per pair for other EU countries and £11.98 per pair outside the EU when a refund has been agreed in these circumstances. SPECIAL DELIVERIES WILL NOT BE SUBJECT TO A RETURN ADMIN FEE, YOU WILL BE ENTITLED TO A FULL REFUND.

Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we can back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.

Tax Charges
17.5% VAT is already added to all our products.

Security
We currently pay for the checkout section of our website to be held on a secure server, you will notice when you click next after entering your address that the URL will change to https:// and that the padlock appears on the site, this is a dedicated secure payment capture server provided by an e-commerce security company.
Your Credit Card details are not held anywhere in clear text on any web site and are only decrypted at our head office locally when entered into the PDQ machines.

Guarantee
All items are checked thoroughly prior to dispatch and should reach you undamaged and ready for use. In the unlikely event that items are received faulty or a fault becomes apparent after wearing, a refund, credit note or replacement will be offered at the Directors discretion.

Note: We will not refund return postage cost unless previously agreed. All goods returned as faulty, will be inspected for manufacturing defects. If deemed faulty, a full refund or exchange will be given. This is not limited to14 days, please contact us for more information.

After inspection, if goods are found not to be faulty, any refund will be subject to a £3-50 administration charge.

Privacy Policy
Howorth's Shoes do not disclose buyers' information to third parties.

Cookies are used on this shopping site to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart, to store delivery addresses if the address book is used and to store your details if you select the 'Remember Me' Option. They are also used after you have logged on as part of that process. You can turn off cookies within your browser by going to 'Tools | Internet Options | Privacy' and selecting to block cookies. If you turn off cookies, you will be unable to place orders or benefit from the other features that use cookies.

Returns Post Option
The Return Post Option is charged at£1.75p/pair. A prepaid Returns Label is only valid for returns within the UK and for the order it was originally purchased with. It is NON TRANSFERABLE.

If you did not purchase the Return Post Option you will be liable for the cost of returning the item. If a prepaid returns label is used for the return of products from any other order, a charge of £4.25 will be made for the use of the returns label. Any unworn product can be returned within 14 days in their original box with all packaging and accessories. Products returned from UK orders where no Return Post Option was purchased are subject to a £3-50 administration charge if the product is refunded. The Return Post Option is not available on overseas orders.

It is our intention to offer a problem-free mailing service that customers will use on a regular basis. Our reputation depends on our level of service and customer satisfaction.

You may return unworn or faulty* goods within 14 days of receipt of your order. At point of purchase a£1.75p/pair Returns Post Option is available to UK customers and will mean returns are free. A prepaid label will be included with the goods. If the Returns Post Option is not selected the customer can arrange their own return postage.

It is important for customers using the Return Post Option to obtain a Certificate of Postage from the Post Office when they return any product to provide proof that the product has been returned. No exchange, refund or credit note will be considered unless a Certificate of Postage can be provided in the event of a parcel being lost in the post.
If a Return Post Option is not purchased (or is not available) and you require a refund, you will be obliged to pay the cost of the return shipping and we will deduct from the refund a standard administration fee of £3.50 per pair for UK orders, £6.99 per pair for other EU countries and £11.98 per pair outside the EU when a refund has been agreed in these circumstances. SPECIAL DELIVERIES WILL NOT BE SUBJECT TO A RETURN ADMIN FEE, YOU WILL BE ENTITLED TO A FULL REFUND.
Customers who have not purchased a Return Post Option should return product either by recorded delivery (approx cost £4-50) or special delivery (approx cost £7-30). No exchange, refund or credit note will be considered unless Proof of Postage can be provided in the event of a parcel being lost in the post.

The Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 recommended a return period of 7 working days within which the consumer can return their goods.

None of the above affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
